The extra height makes these useful for product labels with more information, such as ingredients lists, compliance details, or longer product descriptions. Paper stock options
Plain paper: Standard white matte label stock — the most common and cost-effective option. Suitable for most office, retail, and warehouse applications where the label will stay indoors and not be exposed to moisture, heat, or abrasion.
Gloss: A white gloss finish that gives labels a premium look — suitable for product labels where appearance matters, such as cosmetics, food, retail packaging, and branded items. Available in 1-up full-sheet format at $49.00 inc GST per 100 sheets.
Polylaser (waterproof polyester): A synthetic polyester stock for labels exposed to moisture, condensation, outdoor conditions, or chemical contact. Polylaser labels are significantly more durable than paper and won't disintegrate when wet. Available in 6-up formats at $179.00 per 100-sheet box. A: Laser labels are A4 sheet-format labels that print on a standard office laser or inkjet printer. Thermal labels are in roll format and require a dedicated thermal label printer. Polylaser (polyester) label sheets are designed for laser printers specifically — check the product description before using polylaser stock in an inkjet, as the heat and fuser process differs between laser and inkjet printing.
Q: What is polylaser and when do I need it?
A: Polylaser labels are made from synthetic polyester film rather than paper. They are waterproof, tear-resistant, and significantly more durable than paper labels. Use polylaser when your labels will be exposed to moisture (refrigerators, outdoor environments, humid warehouses), chemicals, or rough handling. For dry indoor applications, plain paper labels are sufficient and considerably cheaper.
Q: Do I need special software to print A4 laser labels?
A: No. A4 laser labels can be printed from any software that lets you specify label dimensions — Microsoft Word includes built-in label templates (compatible with Avery label formats), and free tools like LibreOffice, Canva, and most design applications support A4 label layouts. For commercial production with barcodes and variable data, dedicated label software such as NiceLabel or BarTender gives more control.
