TZe tape widths — which width do you need?
12mm TZe tape: The most widely used TZe width for everyday office, retail, and warehouse labelling. At 12mm wide, printed labels are easy to read and fit most common labelling applications — file folder tabs, storage box labels, equipment asset tags, shelf labels, cable markers, and general identification tasks. Most desktop Brother P-touch models (PT-D200, PT-D230, PT-H110, PT-P300, PT-P700, PT-P750W) accept 12mm as their standard or maximum tape width. 8 metres per roll, from $35 inc GST.
36mm TZe tape: The widest tape in our range — produces a broad label suited to signage, bold identification, multi-line text, or any application where a larger label is needed. Colour options
Black on White: The standard, most readable option for general labelling in offices, warehouses, healthcare, and retail. Available in 12mm ($35.00) and 36mm ($59.00).
Black on Clear: Transparent backing that blends with any surface colour — the text appears to float on the surface. Popular for cable labelling, glassware, product labels, and applications where the label background should be invisible. Available as standard ($35.00), strong adhesive, and acid-free variants (from $35.00–$42.00).
Black on Fluoro Yellow: High-visibility yellow background for safety labels, hazard identification, and equipment that needs to stand out. $35.00 inc GST.
Black on Fluoro Orange: High-visibility orange for warning labels and colour-coded labelling systems. $35.00 inc GST.

Specialist TZe tape variants
Flexible tape (Black on White): A non-laminated flexible tape designed to wrap around cables, wires, conduit, and cylindrical surfaces without lifting or peeling at the edges. Where a rigid label would fail on a curved surface, flexible tape conforms to the shape. 12mm, $42.00 inc GST.
Acid-free tape (Black on White, Black on Clear): Made from acid-free materials, suited to archival labelling of documents, folders, books, photographs, and other materials where acid migration from the label could cause deterioration over time. Used in libraries, records management, and any environment with long-term document storage requirements. 12mm, $42.00 inc GST.
Compatible Brother P-touch printers
All TZe tapes in this range are genuine Brother products and are compatible with Brother P-touch label makers. Common compatible models include the PT-D200, PT-D230, PT-H110, PT-P300, PT-P700, PT-P750W, PT-P900W, PT-E500, and PT-9700PC. TZe tapes are also backward compatible with older Brother P-touch models originally designed for TZ tape — the cassette dimensions are the same and TZe fits TZ-compatible machines.
Important: TZe tape is not compatible with Brother QL series printers (QL-800, QL-810W, QL-820NWB, QL-1100, etc.). QL printers use DK label rolls — a completely different media format. If you have a Brother QL printer, you need DK rolls, not TZe tape.

Q: What is the difference between TZe tape and TZ tape?
A: TZe is the updated version of the older Brother TZ tape format. The cassette dimensions are the same, so TZe tapes are backward compatible with older P-touch printers originally designed for TZ tape — if your machine took TZ tape, TZe will fit and work correctly. The practical improvement with TZe is a laminated construction that makes the printed image more resistant to water, smearing, and fading compared to older TZ tapes.
Q: What width TZe tape do I need?
A: 12mm is the most commonly used width and fits the majority of desktop Brother P-touch label makers, including the PT-D200, PT-D230, PT-H110, PT-P300, and PT-P700. For a larger label with multiple lines of text, 18mm or 24mm tapes are popular — check your printer's maximum tape width specification. The 36mm tape requires a compatible wide-format P-touch model such as the PT-P900W or PT-9800PCN.
Q: How many labels can I get from one TZe roll?
A: Each roll is 8 metres of tape. The number of labels depends on the length you print each label. For a 50mm long label at 12mm width, one roll gives approximately 160 labels. For shorter 25mm labels you get around 320; for longer 100mm labels around 80. The Brother P-touch label software shows estimated label count based on your design and the tape length settings.
Q: Can I use TZe tape in a Brother QL label printer?
A: No — Brother QL printers (QL-800, QL-810W, QL-820NWB, QL-1100, etc.) use DK label rolls, not TZe tape cassettes. The two ranges use completely different media formats and are not interchangeable. TZe tape works only in Brother P-touch label makers.
