Epson TM-T82IIIL vs Epson TM-T82III: What Should You Pick?

Epson TM-T82IIIL vs Epson TM-T82III: What Should You Pick?

Epson has been leading the POS industry for years with a reputation for providing high-performing printing solutions. This blog discusses the differences between the two popular Epson  thermal receipt printers – Epson TM-T82IIIL and Epson TM-T82III. This guide will help you decide which of the two is appropriate for your business.

Before we start with the differences between the  Epson TM-T82IIIL and Epson TM-T82III receipt printers, know that both the printers are supplied with all the drivers and accessories necessary for easy and quick installation. These models are backwards compatible with the previous TM-T82II Series and meet Epson’s industry-leading functionality, reliability and usability standards. However, it is recommended that you consult with your POS retailer before you invest in any of the models to work with your existing Vend, Square, Kounta or any other systems.

EPSON TM-T82IIIL and EPSON TM-T82III

Let’s differentiate between these two Epson receipt printers based on various factors including operational volume, print speed, connectivity and more.

PRINT VOLUME

The TM-T82IIIL is an ultra-low volume model that is suited to businesses that process low volume orders and don’t have to print a lot of receipts regularly. The  TM-T82III, on the other hand, can be used for low to medium volume printing operations. This is an important consideration because it doesn’t make sense to invest in an expensive model if your business has low printing requirements. However, if you are looking for a printer that has a good life span and is designed for long term usage, you should be willing to spend a little extra initially than to experience operational inefficiency later and replace your device earlier than expected.

PRINT SPEED

When it comes to print performance, the  epson T82IIIL can print at a maximum speed of 200mm/s while the TMT82III can print at a maximum speed of 250mm/s. So, if your business remains busy throughout the day, the latter can be a better printing solution for you.

POWER SUPPLY

The  TM-T82IIIL comes with a built-in power adapter. The epson TMT82III, however, is equipped with an external power supply. External circuitries and printer mechanism may cause a little cable mess, but it also makes it easier to replace a power adapter in the event of a power surge rather than replacing the whole printer as in the case with the TM-T82IIIL.

CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS

The TM-T82IIIL offers USB and Serial as dual interfaces and Ethernet as a single interface – all of which are non-removable while the  epson TM T82III is available with only dual interface options including USB & Serial, USB & Parallel or Ethernet & USB.

WIRELESS PRINTING

The TM-T82IIIL  receipt printer doesn’t support wireless printing. So, if you are looking to add wireless convenience and functionality to your printing operations, you would be better off with TM-T82III and bundling it together with Epson’s wireless dongle.
