Zebra ZD411 direct thermal label printer

The Zebra ZD411 is a compact 2-inch desktop label printer and the newer-generation replacement for the popular ZD410. It prints using direct thermal technology, which means there is no ribbon to buy or change, making it simple to run and ideal for short-to-medium-life labels such as barcodes, product tags and patient ID wristbands.

This is the networked configuration with Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB, so it drops straight into shared, multi-user environments. Built-in Ethernet makes it well suited to networked, shared-printer setups where several workstations send labels to the same device, while Bluetooth and USB cover wireless and direct connections. A modular connectivity slot lets you add further interface options down the track.

It prints sharp text, barcodes and logos at 203 dpi and up to 152mm (6 inches) per second, across narrow labels up to 56mm wide. Zebra's OpenAccess design makes media loading quick and easy, dual media sensors handle a range of label and tag stock, and it speaks both ZPL and EPL so it slots into existing Zebra label formats and barcode software. It runs on Zebra's Link-OS platform with Print DNA and PrintSecure, and it is ENERGY STAR qualified and backed by a 24 Months Return to Base warranty.

How the ZD411 compares

The ZD411 is Zebra's newer-generation replacement for the ZD410, and this networked model has built-in Ethernet that suits shared, multi-user setups. The key choice is the print method. This ZD411 Direct Thermal uses no ribbon, which gives the lowest running cost and suits short-to-medium-life labels such as barcodes, wristbands and price tags. If you need durable, fade-resistant labels for the long term, a ZD411 Thermal Transfer version exists that prints with a ribbon. Both are 2-inch, 203 dpi, 6 ips printers with the same Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB connectivity and the same Print DNA and PrintSecure software, so the decision comes down to label life and running cost. If you need wider labels, the 4-inch ZD420 and ZD421 printers handle larger media.

Zebra ZD411 FAQ

Is the ZD411 a 2-inch printer and what label width does it take?

Yes. The ZD411 is a 2-inch desktop label printer with a maximum print width of 56mm (2.20 in.), making it ideal for narrow labels such as barcodes, product tags, wristbands and asset labels.

Does the ZD411 have Ethernet?

Yes. This model has built-in Ethernet, which suits networked, shared-printer setups where several workstations send labels to the one device. It also includes Bluetooth and USB, plus a modular connectivity slot for further options.

Does the ZD411 need a ribbon?

No. The ZD411 Direct Thermal prints without a ribbon, so there is nothing extra to buy or change beyond label rolls. Direct thermal is best for short-to-medium-life labels.

What is the difference between the ZD411 and the ZD410?

The ZD411 is Zebra's newer-generation replacement for the ZD410. It keeps the compact 2-inch desktop form factor while running on the current Link-OS platform with Print DNA and PrintSecure.

What is the difference between the ZD411 Direct Thermal and Thermal Transfer?

The Direct Thermal model prints without a ribbon for the lowest running cost on short-to-medium-life labels. A Thermal Transfer version of the ZD411 uses a ribbon to produce durable, long-life, fade-resistant labels. Both share the same 2-inch width, 203 dpi, 6 ips speed and Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB connectivity.

Can it print wristbands and healthcare labels?

Yes. The ZD411 is well suited to patient ID wristbands and healthcare labels, as well as small product, barcode and asset labels, name badges and visitor passes.

What if I need wider labels?

The ZD411 is a 2-inch printer for narrow labels. If you need wider labels, Zebra's 4-inch ZD420 and ZD421 desktop printers handle larger media while offering similar networking and software features.

What warranty does it come with?
