Just need the standard roll? Yellow is for the exceptions in a run, not the whole run. The same size, roll count and core in plain white is 100mm x 150mm white direct thermal labels, 400 per roll.
Because the image is developed by heat rather than laid down by a ribbon, the label roll is the only consumable in the printer. There is nothing to thread, nothing to align and nothing to run out mid-shift except the labels themselves, which is why direct thermal is the default for high-turnover shipping and despatch work. The limitation is shelf life. A direct thermal image will grey off if the label spends long periods in sunlight, against a heat source or under repeated rubbing, so anything that has to stay scannable for years belongs on thermal transfer stock with a ribbon.
Yellow is the high-visibility caution colour, and that is exactly how most despatch teams use it. It flags the orders that cannot sit in the queue: express and same-day consignments, jobs against a carrier cut-off, parcels with a handling instruction attached. It also works well as a zone marker, separating one pick area, run or trolley from the next so staff sort by colour before they read a word.
