iMin Falcon 2 Max Tablet POS System, 12.6 inch Android 13, 4GB/64GB, 4G, with 2D Scanner
The 12.6 inch Android POS tablet with iMin's swivel barcode imager built in, so the terminal that takes the payment also scans the stock.

This is the Falcon 2 Max with iMin's industrial barcode imager fitted. It reads 1D and 2D codes, it is described by iMin as enterprise class with a wide field of view and a broad working range, and the part that matters day to day is the mount: the scanner swivels through 90 degrees of continuous rotation. That sounds like a small thing until you watch someone try to scan a label on the underside of a heavy box with a fixed camera. Rotate the head instead of the carton and the awkward scans stop being awkward.
Underneath it is the same machine as the rest of the range: a 12.6 inch IPS panel at 2560 x 1600, an octa core processor pairing a dual core Arm Cortex-A76 at 2.2GHz with a hexa core Cortex-A55, Android 13 with Google Mobile Services, in screen NFC for contactless, 4G alongside Wi-Fi 5, and a 10,000 mAh battery that reports its own health. This configuration carries 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which suits a single POS app and the usual back office tools. If you run several heavy apps side by side, look at the 8GB version.
What the built in scanner saves you
A separate Bluetooth barcode scanner is rarely the end of the cost. It is a second device to buy, a second battery to charge, a second thing to pair when it drops off, and a second thing to replace when it is left on a shelf or dropped. On POS Plaza the gap between this model and the same tablet without the scanner is $100, which is less than most standalone 2D scanners cost on their own. If your staff scan at all, even just for stocktake, the built in imager is usually the cheaper answer as well as the tidier one. The exception is a high volume checkout where someone scans continuously for hours, because a dedicated handheld or presentation scanner is still faster and kinder on the wrist than holding up a 560 g tablet.
Why choose this configuration
Enterprise class scanning of barcodes and QR codes, no second device on the counter.
Rotate the scan head instead of the carton when the label is in an awkward place.
2560 x 1600 IPS, enough room for a product list and a running sale at once.
Scan the item and take the tap on the same piece of glass.
38 Wh with real time health reporting, scanner and screen on one charge.
A counter terminal when parked, a mobile scanner the moment it is lifted off.
Where it fits
Walk the shelves scanning with the same tablet that runs your POS, so counts land straight in the system instead of on paper.
Scan the parcel label, confirm the order and take any balance owing in one pass at the pickup desk.
Scan the barcode, check price and stock on a screen the customer can see, and settle by tap, all on one device.

All four share the 12.6 inch panel, the octa core processor, Android 13 with GMS and the 10,000 mAh battery. The only two variables are memory and the scanner. If the big screen is what appeals but the budget is not there, the iMin Falcon 2 at 10.95 inch runs the same platform in a smaller body.
Docks, printing and accessories
The scanner is built in, but nothing else is. The Falcon 2 Max attaches magnetically to an iMin dock, which is what lets one tablet be a counter terminal and a floor scanner on the same shift. The docks are separate orders:
- Basic Dock or Basic Folding Dock, when the counter needs a stand and nothing more.
- 80mm Printer Dock, which turns the tablet into a full till: an 80mm thermal printer at 250 mm/s with an auto cutter, taking 58mm or 80mm paper on rolls to 80mm diameter, and adding a DC jack, two USB-A, RJ12 for the cash drawer and RJ45 for Ethernet.
- Falcon 2 Max protective case, with a strap, worth having if the scanner is going to be walked around the shop.
What is included, and what is not
Included with this part number:

- The built in industrial 1D and 2D barcode imager, on its 90 degree swivel mount
- Android 13 with Google Mobile Services, so the Play Store and your POS app install normally

- No case. The Falcon 2 Max protective case is sold separately
- No cash drawer or receipt printer unless you take the 80mm Printer Dock, which provides both the printer and the drawer port
Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of scanner is built in?
An industrial 1D and 2D imager on a swivel mount that rotates through 90 degrees continuously. iMin describes it as enterprise class, with a wide field of view and a broad working range, and it reads both printed barcodes and QR codes off screens. Note that iMin does not publish the scan engine vendor or model for this unit, so we do not claim one. If you need the exact engine spec for a tender or an integration, ask us and we will get it in writing from the supplier.
Is this the same tablet as the model without the scanner?
Yes, identically so. Same 12.6 inch 2560 x 1600 panel, same octa core processor, same 4GB and 64GB, same Android 13 with GMS, same 4G and Wi-Fi 5 and in screen NFC, same 10,000 mAh battery, same magnetic docking. The scanner is the only difference, and it is $100.
Should I buy this or the 8GB version with the scanner?
It comes down to how hard your software works the tablet. 4GB and 64GB is comfortable for one POS app plus the usual back office bits. Step up to the 8GB and 128GB model if you run several apps at once, hold a big offline product catalogue on the device, or expect the fleet to still be in service in three or four years as apps get heavier. The gap is $350.
Can it scan a barcode on a phone screen?
Yes. A 2D imager reads codes off a display as well as off paper, which covers e-vouchers, digital membership cards, click and collect codes and e-tickets. A laser scanner cannot do that, which is one of the reasons the imager is the right choice for retail now.
Does scanning drain the battery much faster?
It draws more than the screen alone, but the 10,000 mAh battery is sized for the whole device with the scanner running. The practical answer is to dock it whenever it is not in someone's hands. Because docking is magnetic, parking it is a one second action rather than a cable, so it tends to stay topped up without anyone thinking about it.
What docks work with it?
All three iMin Falcon 2 Max docks: the Basic Dock, the Basic Folding Dock and the 80mm Printer Dock. None are included. The printer dock is the one to look at if this is a fixed counter, because it brings an 80mm receipt printer at 250 mm/s with an auto cutter plus a cash drawer port and Ethernet.
How rugged is it?
Rated to a 1.0 m drop for typical use in casual settings, and it runs from -10 to 50 degrees C. That is a retail floor or a dining room, not a loading dock. If staff will carry it all shift, the protective case with strap is worth the $145.
What is the warranty?
12 Months Return to Base. Send the unit to us within the warranty period and we deal with iMin on the repair or replacement.
