Two things separate this part number from the rest of the RT-2015 range: it carries 8GB of DDR3L rather than 4GB, and it is supplied without a base. If the terminal is going onto a VESA arm, a wall bracket, a till drawer mount or a fitted counter, the base is dead weight and dead cost, so Posiflex sells the build without it.
The 8GB matters more than it used to. Point of sale has drifted towards cloud back ends, browser based reporting and payment applications that sit alongside the till program, and four gigabytes gets tight when all three run together. Everything else is the standard RT-2015: a fanless die-cast aluminium chassis, a bezel free 15 inch projected capacitive display at 1024 x 768, an Intel J1900 quad core up to 2.42GHz, a 128GB SSD, and three serial ports with one USB 3.0, three USB 2.0, LAN, VGA and mini DisplayPort. Windows 10 IoT LTSC 64 bit is preloaded. Backed by a 36 Months Return to Base warranty.
