The GoDEX RT230i label printer is a compact desktop 300DPI thermal transfer and direct thermal label printer with all the features you need for a wide range of labelling applications where high resolution text and barcodes are required. It directly competes and wins over other DT/TT Printers in it's class boasting a 2 year warranty, triple interface (USB, RS232 and Ethernet as standard) and the option to add Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity. The RT230i Intelligent model also includes a user interface screen with navigation keys and USB input for keyboards and barcode scanners allowing you to use the printer as a host-less stand alone barcoding solution. Excellent for applications like barcode replication, test and tag label printing electronics industry, medical labelling and much more. With the ability to upload multiple label templates, logos, graphics and even custom fonts to the printer and then use it independently. GoDEX bring flexible, easy to use label printing to everyone with their Intelligent label printers.
POS PLAZA supplies the GoDEX RT230i in Australia with the Godex consumables, upgrade kits and spare parts that go with it, including print heads and platen rollers, so a worn part does not mean replacing the printer. It carries a 24 Months Return to Base manufacturer's warranty, which excludes consumable parts, meaning the thermal print head and the platen roller. Colour LCD and operation panel for easy and intuitive operation
Ethernet, Serial and USB ports are standard features adding flexibility and power
Maximum 7 IPS printing speed
USB host for extension memory and standalone operation
Compact size and modern clam-shell design
Thermal transfer uses a ribbon, so the print does not fade with heat or light the way a direct thermal label does. That is what you want on asset tags, chemical labels and anything stored for months.
Direct thermal needs no ribbon at all, which makes it the cheaper way to run shipping labels, pick tickets and anything read within weeks rather than years.
With the standard Godex languages emulation it can usually take the label formats your current software already sends, which matters more than the hardware when you are replacing a printer.

Pick the version from the dropdown above. The printer is identical across all of them, only the label exit hardware changes.
The print width in the specifications is the hard limit. Check your label stock against it, and check the core size your rolls are wound on, before the printer arrives.
This printer speaks the Godex languages. If you are replacing an existing printer, those emulations are usually what lets your current label formats keep working.
The label and ribbon cost outruns the printer cost quickly. Tell us what you are printing and we will quote the stock alongside the hardware.
Only in thermal transfer mode. This printer does both: direct thermal needs no ribbon and prints onto heat sensitive label stock, while thermal transfer uses a ribbon to lay ink onto the label. Direct thermal is cheaper to run and fades over months, thermal transfer costs more per label and lasts. Choose per job, the printer does not care.
Resolution is how many dots the head lays down per inch. 300 dpi (12 dots/mm) is the working figure for this model. Higher resolution matters when you are printing small text, fine logos or dense 2D barcodes onto small labels. For plain product and shipping labels the lower resolutions are usually sharper than they need to be already.
Godex rates it at 177mm/sec (7 ips) / 127mm/sec (5 ips) with a maximum print width of 54mm (2.12") / 56.9mm (2.24"). The width is the limit on the label itself: anything wider than that cannot be filled edge to edge, so measure your label stock against that figure before ordering.
As standard it offers USB 2.0 (B-Type) Serial port: RS-232 (DB-9) Ethernet port (RJ-45) USB Host (A-Type) Optional Bluetooth Module. Tell us how the printer will sit on your network when you order and we will confirm you have the right build.
The printer is the same in every version on this page. The peeler version separates each label from its backing as it prints and presents it ready to pick up, which suits applying labels one at a time by hand; and the cutter version slices the media after each label or batch, which suits tags, tickets and continuous stock. The standard version does neither and simply prints a roll.
Godex supplies its GoLabel design software at no extra cost, which is enough to lay out and print labels without buying a third party package. If you already use a labelling or ERP system you will more likely drive the printer from that instead, through the language emulations listed in the specifications.
A 24 Months Return to Base manufacturer's warranty. Return to base means a faulty unit comes back to us for assessment and repair or replacement rather than an engineer attending site. Consumable parts are excluded, which on a thermal printer means the thermal print head and the platen roller. Both are wear items with a working life measured in printed metres rather than in years, so they are replaced on a service schedule rather than claimed, and POS PLAZA stocks both for this range.
Call us on 1300 115 808. Choosing between resolutions and between direct thermal and thermal transfer is much easier against a printed sample of your own artwork than against a specification sheet.
