The facestock here is a synthetic film, not paper. Water does not soften it, oils and solvents do not break it down, and it does not fibre up or tear when handled hard, so the label and its barcode stay readable.
Run the roll on a thermal transfer printer with a resin or wax/resin ribbon. Resin bonds a sealed image to the plastic that survives solvent wipes and abrasion. Skip plain wax, which smears, and direct thermal, which cannot mark synthetic stock at all. The removable adhesive peels away cleanly from most clean, dry surfaces without leaving residue, which suits temporary, seasonal and returnable labelling.
At 100mm (W) x 74mm (L) on a 40mm core, this size is commonly used for drum, chemical and GHS warning labels, carton and outer-packaging labels, outdoor asset and equipment tags, and cold-store or washdown environments.
