About the Entrust Sigma DSE

The Entrust Sigma DSE (single-sided) is an entry-level direct-to-card printer for secure, in-house ID and badge issuance. It uses 300dpi dye-sublimation printing for crisp, full-colour cards and photo-quality images, and prints single-sided (simplex), so you can issue clean, professional single-sided cards on demand.
It runs at up to 185 full-colour cards per hour (750 in monochrome), feeds from a 100-card input hopper into a 25-card output hopper for continuous batches, and connects over USB with driver support for Windows 11, Windows 10 and Linux. There is no retransfer film to buy: you just load a printer ribbon and blank cards to start issuing secure IDs and mobile flashpasses.

Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to start printing cards?
Just an Entrust printer ribbon and blank CR-80 plastic cards. The Sigma DSE is a direct-to-card printer, so there is no retransfer film to buy. Install the Windows or Linux driver, load a ribbon and cards, and you can start issuing.
Does it print in colour and on both sides?
It prints full colour using dye-sublimation ribbons, or monochrome, on one side of the card (single-sided). If you need both faces printed, choose the dual-sided Sigma DSE Duplex.
How fast is it and how many cards does it hold?
It prints up to 185 full-colour cards per hour, or up to 750 in monochrome, and feeds from a 100-card input hopper into a 25-card output hopper for continuous batches.
How does it connect?
This model connects over USB directly to a PC. If you need to share the printer over a network, choose the dual-sided Sigma DSE Duplex, which adds Ethernet.
Can it encode magnetic stripe or smart cards?
The Sigma platform supports optional encoding such as magnetic stripe and smart card. Tell us what encoding you need and we will confirm the right configuration or module for your cards, on 1300 115 808.
