The GoDEX DT4x+ is a powerful yet compact direct thermal desktop label printer designed for businesses that need fast, high-quality label printing in a small footprint. Whether you're printing shipping labels, retail barcodes, or office asset tags, the DT4x+ delivers efficiency, reliability, and affordability.
POS PLAZA supplies the GoDEX DT4X+ in Australia with the Godex consumables, upgrade kits and spare parts that go with it, including print heads and platen rollers, so a worn part does not mean replacing the printer. It carries a 24 Months Return to Base manufacturer's warranty, which excludes consumable parts, meaning the thermal print head and the platen roller. For help choosing between resolutions, or between direct thermal and thermal transfer, call us on 1300 115 808.

Where it fits
Short life labels
Direct thermal needs no ribbon at all, which makes it the cheaper way to run shipping labels, pick tickets and anything read within weeks rather than years.
Fitting an existing system
With ZPL, EPL, Datamax compatible emulation it can usually take the label formats your current software already sends, which matters more than the hardware when you are replacing a printer.

Before you order
Measure your label
The print width in the specifications is the hard limit. Check your label stock against it, and check the core size your rolls are wound on, before the printer arrives.
Check the software
This printer speaks ZPL, EPL, Datamax compatible. If you are replacing an existing printer, those emulations are usually what lets your current label formats keep working.
Think about the consumables
The label and ribbon cost outruns the printer cost quickly. Tell us what you are printing and we will quote the stock alongside the hardware.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need a ribbon?
No. This is a direct thermal printer, so it prints onto heat sensitive label stock with no ribbon to buy or load. That keeps the running cost down. The trade off is that direct thermal print fades with heat and light over months, so it suits shipping labels and pick tickets rather than long life asset tags.
What does 203 DPI actually mean for my labels?
Resolution is how many dots the head lays down per inch. 203 DPI is the working figure for this model. Higher resolution matters when you are printing small text, fine logos or dense 2D barcodes onto small labels. For plain product and shipping labels the lower resolutions are usually sharper than they need to be already.
How fast is it and how wide can the label be?
Godex rates it at Up to 7 ips (178 mm/sec) with a maximum print width of Up to 4.25" (108mm). The width is the limit on the label itself: anything wider than that cannot be filled edge to edge, so measure your label stock against that figure before ordering.
How does it connect?
As standard it offers USB 2.0, Ethernet, Serial (RS-232). Wireless is available as an option: Wi-Fi/Bluetooth. Tell us how the printer will sit on your network when you order and we will confirm you have the right build.
Will it work with the software I already run?
Usually yes, and the reason is the language support: ZPL, EPL, Datamax compatible. Those emulations let the printer accept label formats written for other brands, so replacing an existing printer often does not mean rewriting your label templates. Call POS PLAZA on 1300 115 808 with the name of your software and we will check before you order.
Is label design software included?
Godex supplies its GoLabel design software at no extra cost, which is enough to lay out and print labels without buying a third party package. If you already use a labelling or ERP system you will more likely drive the printer from that instead, through the language emulations listed in the specifications.
What warranty does it carry?
A 24 Months Return to Base manufacturer's warranty. Return to base means a faulty unit comes back to us for assessment and repair or replacement rather than an engineer attending site. Consumable parts are excluded, which on a thermal printer means the thermal print head and the platen roller. Both are wear items with a working life measured in printed metres rather than in years, so they are replaced on a service schedule rather than claimed, and POS PLAZA stocks both for this range.
Can I see a sample label before I commit?
Call us on 1300 115 808. Choosing between resolutions and between direct thermal and thermal transfer is much easier against a printed sample of your own artwork than against a specification sheet.
