Star TSP143IV-UEWB thermal receipt printer in dark grey

The Star TSP143IV-UEWB is the fully connected model in Star's fourth-generation TSP143 range. Where the other models each commit you to one connection type, this one ships with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet and USB all built in, so a single part number covers a wired counter, a tablet till or a site with no data point.

It prints 80mm receipts at up to 250 mm/second at 203 dpi, drops to 58mm with the roll guide supplied in the box, and cuts with a guillotine rated to 2 million cuts. The power supply is internal, so there is no brick under the counter, and the Australian power cables are included.

Star Micronics Australia lists this model at $899.00. Ours is $685.00 including GST.

How it compares in the Star range

Against the other Star TSP143 models we stock. All four print at 250 mm/s at 203 dpi on 80mm paper, so the real difference is which interfaces you get and what you pay for them.

The UEWB is the only one of the four with every interface. If the printer will always sit on a network cable, the TSP143IV Cloud does the same printing for less. If you need wireless or Bluetooth, note that the UEWB is cheaper than either single-interface TSP143III while also being a generation newer.

Don't forget the 80mm thermal rolls.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does UEWB mean on the TSP143IV?

It is Star's shorthand for the interfaces fitted: USB, Ethernet, Wireless and Bluetooth. This is the fully connected model in the TSP143IV range, so rather than choosing a Wi-Fi version or a Bluetooth version and being locked to it, you get all four on one unit and commission whichever the site needs.

Can it print from an iPad or an Android tablet?

Yes. It carries Bluetooth for tablet tills, and the USB-A port supports Android Open Accessory (AOA) so an Android device can print and charge over the one cable. There is also a USB-C port for modern hosts and dual-band Wi-Fi if you would rather keep the counter cable-free. Check your POS app's supported-hardware list, or call us on 1300 115 808 and we will confirm it against your setup first.

Why does dual-band Wi-Fi matter?

The 2.4GHz band is crowded in most venues, sharing space with other tills, phones, EFTPOS terminals and neighbouring businesses, and congestion there is a common cause of dockets printing late or not at all. This printer also runs on 5GHz, which is far less contested and generally more reliable in a busy cafe, bar or shopping centre.

Does it need an external power brick?

No. The power supply is inside the printer and the Australian power cables are supplied, so there is nothing extra to mount under the counter or lose during a fit-out. That is consistent across the TSP100 range and is one reason it suits tight counters.

What paper does it take?

Standard 80mm direct thermal receipt rolls up to an 83mm roll diameter, and it drops to 58mm using the roll guide included in the box. As a direct thermal printer it needs no ink or ribbon, only the paper.

How does it compare to the standard TSP143IV?

Same print engine: direct thermal, 203 dpi and up to 250 mm/s on both. The difference is connectivity. The standard TSP143IV Cloud model is Ethernet and USB, which is fine for a fixed wired counter. The UEWB adds dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on top, so it also covers tablet POS, mobile setups and sites where running a data cable is impractical. If you know the printer will always sit on a network cable, the standard model is the cheaper buy.

How long is the warranty?

It comes with Star Micronics' 2 year manufacturer warranty, listed here as 24 Months Return to Base.

Is this cheaper than buying direct?

Yes. Star Micronics Australia lists the TSP143IV-UEWB at $899.00. Ours is $685.00 including GST, and we ship Australia-wide.
