The Nexa NP-1653+ Dual Display is the same terminal as the standard NP-1653+ with the rear customer screen already built in. On the operator side there is a 15 inch 4:3 projected capacitive touch panel at 1024 x 768. On the other side of the chassis, facing across the counter, sits a 10.1 inch LCD that shows the customer what is being rung up. Both run from the one Intel N97 quad core processor, which is fanless, so a terminal that spends twelve hours a day on a counter makes no noise and has no fan drawing dust through its electronics.
Choosing the dual display version rather than adding a display later removes a surprising amount of counter clutter: there is no bracket, no video cable, no second power lead and no second thing to knock. The terminal is aluminium and slimline metal, the base lifts off for VESA wall or pole mounting, and the SSD is reachable from the rear for servicing. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise is preloaded and the licence is in the price. Backed by a 24 Months Return to Base warranty with a 3 year on site upgrade available, and supported in Australia by POS PLAZA on 1300 115 808.
Why choose the Dual Display version
Two screens, one box
A 15 inch operator touch screen and a 10.1 inch rear customer display arrive on the same chassis, already fitted, cabled and driven by the one terminal.
Nothing to mount or wire
A separate customer display costs money, eats counter depth and needs a bracket, a video lead and a power lead. This one has none of that.
Intel N97, no fan
A quad core N97 running to 3.60GHz with no fan in the case, so there is no noise at the counter and no fan intake pulling dust through the electronics.
Service without a trip
The SSD is reachable from the back of the unit, so a drive swap or an image restore is a counter job rather than a return to the workshop.
Ports for a full counter
Six USB, two serial, gigabit Ethernet, VGA and a powered RJ11/12 drawer jack, which is enough for a printer, a scanner, a drawer and a pin pad at once.
Windows in the price
Windows 11 IoT Enterprise is preloaded and included, so there is no separate licence to buy and no first boot spent installing an operating system.
What the second screen earns you
Pricing in plain sight
The customer watches the line items land as they are scanned. Fewer disputes at the end of a sale, and a faster path through a queue because nobody is reading the total upside down.
Payment and loyalty prompts
Tip prompts, loyalty sign ups, email receipt capture and signature confirmations can be put in front of the customer without turning the main screen around.
Advertising between sales
An idle customer screen is a 10.1 inch advert at eye level. Specials, opening hours or a seasonal promotion run on the counter without buying a separate display.

Before you order
Check your POS software
A second screen is only worth having if your software drives it. Most packages do, but tell us which one you run and we will confirm the customer display mode before the terminal ships.
Check the counter depth
The terminal body is 356 mm wide, 346 mm high and 222 mm deep on its stand, and the rear screen sits above that, so measure the clearance behind the till position as well as in front of it.
Decide on the options now
MSR, RFID and Wi-Fi are factory options on this platform rather than things that clip on afterwards. If you want any of them, say so with the order and we will quote the right build.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the customer display included, or is it an option I have to add?
It is included. That is the whole difference between this part number and the standard NP-1653+. On the base terminal the second screen is a factory option that has to be specified; on the NP1653+DD it is already fitted to the chassis, already cabled and already driven by the terminal, so there is nothing to add at checkout and nothing to assemble on the counter.
Does the customer screen respond to touch?
No. The rear 10.1 inch panel is an LCD without a touch layer. It is there to show the customer what is happening: items as they are rung up, the running total, a tip or loyalty prompt, or an advert while the counter is idle. All input happens on the 15 inch projected capacitive screen the operator uses.
Will my point of sale software actually use the second screen?
Windows sees it as a second monitor, so anything that can target a second display will work. Most Australian POS packages have a customer display or customer facing mode built in, and the ones that do not can still throw a slideshow or a web page onto it. Tell us which package you run when you order and we will confirm what it supports.
Can I take it off the stand and mount it?
Yes. The base is removable and the terminal supports VESA mounting, so it can go on a wall bracket or a pole to free up counter space. The rear display is part of the terminal, so it travels with it.
Is Windows included or do I buy a licence separately?
Included. The terminal ships with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise preloaded and the licence is in the price. IoT Enterprise is the edition built for fixed function machines like this one, which is why it is used instead of a retail copy of Windows.
Can the memory or the drive be upgraded later?
Yes, within the platform's limits. As supplied it has 8GB of DDR4 and a 120GB SSD. The NP-1653+ platform takes up to 16GB of memory and up to a 1TB drive, and the SSD is reachable from the back of the unit so a swap does not mean stripping the terminal down. Ask us before you order if you want it built with more.
What can I plug into it?
Six USB ports in total, four USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0, two serial ports, gigabit Ethernet, a VGA output, an audio output and an RJ11/12 cash drawer jack. In practice that covers a receipt printer, a barcode scanner, a cash drawer, a pin pad and a scale without needing a hub.
What warranty does it carry and can I get on site cover?
It carries a 24 Months Return to Base warranty as standard. A 3 year on site upgrade is available through Nexa and covers most metropolitan areas, so call POS PLAZA on 1300 115 808 to check your postcode and add it to the order.
