Element 485 POS Terminal, Intel N95, 8GB, 128GB SSD
A 15.1" True Flat PCAP touch terminal in a die-cast aluminium housing, with three serial ports, six USB ports and a cash drawer port, running Windows 11 IoT Enterprise.
About the Element 485
The Element 485 is a 15.1" all-in-one POS terminal built for the counter: one enclosure holding the screen, the computer and the ports, so a full till runs off a single power lead. This is the N95 build, part number TTFLEL485033, with 8GB of DDR4, a 128GB M.2 SSD and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise pre-loaded.
The case is die-cast aluminium rather than moulded plastic, which is the part that matters over a five year life in a busy venue. It sheds heat without a fan vent collecting dust, it does not flex when someone leans on the bezel, and the finish survives being wiped down several times a day. The screen is True Flat PCAP, so there is no raised lip around the glass for crumbs and spills to sit in.
Where the 485 earns its place over a tablet till is the back panel. Three RJ48 serial ports, six USB, an RJ11 cash drawer trigger and gigabit-capable RJ45 mean a receipt printer, scanner, scales, EFTPOS terminal, cash drawer and customer display all connect directly, with no hub tree under the counter. A second FeDP output drives a customer-facing display, and there is a rear service door for the SSD so storage can be swapped without stripping the unit.
Why choose the Element 485
Where it fits
A single-lead till for fashion, grocery, bottle shops and pharmacy, with the serial and USB ports for scales, scanners and pinpads already on board.
Flat sealed glass wipes clean between services, and the aluminium body copes with a warm kitchen pass better than a vented plastic case.
Windows 11 IoT Enterprise images and manages the same way across every store, and VESA mounting keeps the counter footprint consistent.

N95 or N97, which build do you need?
POS PLAZA stocks the 485 in two processor builds. The chassis, screen, ports, memory, storage and warranty are identical. The only difference is the Intel Alder Lake-N chip, and for most counters it will not be the deciding factor.

Frequently Asked Questions
What stand does it come with?
The foldable desk stand you can see in the product images, fitted and ready to use. It is a fixed stand that faces the operator, with the screen angle adjustable on its hinge. If you need the terminal off the counter entirely, use the VESA 75 x 75 or 100 x 100 pattern behind the back cover with a monitor arm, wall plate or pole mount.
Will my existing serial receipt printer, scales or pinpad connect?
Almost certainly. The 485 has three RJ48 RS232 serial ports, which cover the legacy peripherals most terminals have dropped. The ports default to 0V and can be switched to 5V or 12V where a device draws its power from the port. You will need an RJ48 to DB9 cable for anything with a standard serial plug, so tell us what you are connecting and we will include the right leads.
Does it have powered USB for a 24V printer?
Not this model. Powered USB at 12V and 24V is an optional factory build of the 485, and this STD configuration does not have it fitted. If your printer needs powered USB, call 1300 115 808 before ordering so we can quote the powered USB build instead, which also ships with a larger 120W adapter.
Can I add a customer-facing display?
Yes. The 485 has a second FeDP output specifically for a customer display, alongside USB for a small LCM pole display. POS PLAZA stocks the Element 485 11.6" second display, which is the matching unit for this terminal.
What can I upgrade later?
Storage is the practical one. A rear service door on the back of the chassis reaches the M.2 SSD without pulling the terminal apart, so a larger drive is a counter-side job rather than a workshop one. There is also one spare M.2 E Key slot. Memory is a single 8GB DDR4 module.
Does it run anything other than Windows?
The 485 platform supports Windows 11 IoT Enterprise, Linux and Android 13.0. This part number is supplied with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise pre-installed and licensed, which is what almost every Australian POS application expects. If you are running a Linux or Android point of sale, talk to us before ordering.
Can it be wall or pole mounted?
Yes. Behind the back cover there are both 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 VESA patterns, so the screen can come off its desk stand onto a standard monitor arm, wall plate or pole. Weight to allow for is 4.3 kg.
Is Wi-Fi built in?
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 are an optional build on the 485 rather than standard. This model connects by Ethernet through its RJ45 port, which is what we would recommend for a fixed counter anyway, since a till is the last thing you want dropping off a wireless network mid-transaction. A USB Wi-Fi adapter is a straightforward retrofit if you need it.
The Element 485 (TTFLEL485033) is a 15.1" all-in-one POS terminal for Australian retail and hospitality counters, built on an Intel Alder Lake-N N95 processor with 8GB DDR4, a 128GB M.2 SSD and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise. Its 1024 x 768 True Flat PCAP multi-touch screen sits in a die-cast aluminium housing measuring 369 x 277 x 203 mm and weighing 4.3 kg. Connectivity covers 2 x USB 3.0, 4 x USB 2.0, 1 x full-function USB-C, 3 x RJ48 RS232 serial, 1 x RJ45 LAN, 1 x RJ11 cash drawer and 2 x FeDP display outputs, powered by a 65W 19V adapter. It mounts on VESA 75 x 75 or 100 x 100, has a rear service door for the M.2 SSD, and carries a 36 Months Return to Base warranty. Powered USB and wireless are optional factory builds not fitted to this STD configuration. It is supplied on a foldable desk stand.
